Intermission
March 15, 2004
It’s intermission time. By now, you should have a lot on your plate and it is time to sit back and relax for a while rather than add to it. To help you along, here are some wisdoms taken from some great Midwesterners (sorry about plugging my roots).
"When you blunder, blunder forward." Thomas Edison
"Be like the elephant in the circus parade: have thick skin and proceed carefully on the heels of your predecessor." Adlai Stevenson
"Life is like a ten-speed bike. Most of us have gears we never use." Charles Shulz
"Focus on remedies, not faults." Jack Nicklaus
"Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re right."
Henry Ford
"A good scare is worth more than good advice." Edgar Watson Howe
